.As an American, I firmly believe that we will not realize our innate sensuality until we mature as a nation. Other nations have a more mature/adult/healthy view of sexuality that allows them to embrace the joy that can (not absolute, as interpersonal connection is key) accompany intimacy. In the states, the act of sex is viewed in a more sophomoric fashion. Rather than viewing sex as a powerful form of human interaction with deep and provocative moments for growth and reflection, many of us see the act merely as a “hook-up†which relegates it to something purely physical.....just my opinion….and being an American, as I mentioned…..I know many of you won’t agree with me.  |
